Now is the time for us to build a better version of capitalism

The amplification of social and environmental inequities due to COVID-19 calls on us to collectively imagine a new kind of capitalism. Corporates across Canada have a major role to play in creating social impact post-pandemic across all major issues — from health to food security.

This pandemic has brought into sharp focus the links between doing well in business and doing good in our communities. Beyond corporate social responsibility, companies that embrace social capitalism do so by using their core business to serve a greater social purpose that benefits all of their stakeholders, from shareholders and customers to our most vulnerable citizens.

The time is now to reimagine the purpose of business, the relationship between companies and community, and to catalyze social capitalism into action.

What will it take to mainstream this movement?

Future of Good is excited to announce a content partnership with TELUS on reimagining corporate social impact. This fall, we’ll kick off with a digital story exploring the ways in which social capitalism can help communities, coast-to-coast-to-coast, and how corporations can use their technology, resources, and infrastructure to do so. TELUS will also be at our Future of Good 2020 Summit, and co-host a webinar in early 2021 about how corporations can collectively redefine capitalism.
