What can Canada learn about social impact from African-based tech companies?

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

We’re excited to announce that we’re crafting a special series of five stories with Engineers Without Borders Canada that profile African-based technology companies with a social impact. With the number of tech hubs in Africa having increased by 50 percent in 2019 alone, we can’t wait to dive into the insights for Canada from the companies using tech to make advancements in areas such as literacy, economic development, climate action, and more.

The series kicks-off late February with a story behind Viamo, a technology founded in Ghana that connects individuals and organizations with information — and the impact that access to this information has on isolated communities where infrastructure, education and literacy levels are low.
