AI Policy

Stories on Future of Good are written and edited by humans, photographs are taken by humans, and the illustrations are created by humans.

Some of the tools we use to create illustrations include Canva and Photoshop. Illustrations are marked as such.

Deeply useful reporting centred on the social purpose sector is the core of what we do. We take pride and care in producing quality journalism that is fact-checked and trustworthy.

We do not believe that generative AI can be used ethically, as the information used to train models was used without creators’ express permission. In essence, it was stolen and using it amounts to plagiarism.

However, we do understand that AI language learning continues to develop at an astonishing rate, and we do use some AI for rote tasks such as translation and transcription, data analysis and final editing to catch typos. We are open to other ethical uses and will disclose them should we adopt them.

Every story you read on Future of Good is scrutinized, edited, fact-checked and written by journalists. Our goal is to preserve the integrity and originality of our journalism and protect the data of the people who have put their trust in us.
