Since our launch in January 2019, Future of Good has quickly become an essential source of stories, analysis, and commentary to make sense of a social impact sector and society in transition. Our mission is to enrich changemakers everyday with smart coverage of the social impact world.

With the growth of our partnerships and collaborations with inspiring impact-oriented organizations across the country, Future of Good continues to dedicate inspiring stories of impact for the thousands of changemakers from the non-profit, co-operative, corporate, social enterprise, philanthropic, social finance, academic, and public sectors to engage with stories that matter. 

That is why Future of Good is very excited to announce that Diamond Yao has joined the Future of Good team of journalists as a special projects writer, dedicated to stories of impact with our partnerships team.

Diamond Yao (she/her) is a journalist based in Tio’tia:ke, colonially known as Montreal. The societal inequalities she witnessed and experienced during her youth inspired her to pursue a journalism career focused on contemporary social and environmental issues. She enjoys sitting with and listening to those who are marginalized in the public discourse and crafting underreported stories. Her work in English and in French has been featured in many outlets that include Toronto Star, Washington Post, CBC, The Canadian Encyclopedia, and Le Devoir. Diamond is interested in broadening her knowledge about the social impact world and how it can meaningfully support the wellbeing of marginalized communities in Canada while working with Future of Good. 

Diamond will be covering stories on themes like: social finance and impact investing, digital transformation in non-profits, transformative leadership in young impact leaders, social justice, the role of CSR, mental health and wellness, how the future of work is transforming, and more.
