Funding from Ontario Trillium Foundation launches free AI tools for non-profits

The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) has funded the launch of a free AI workspace for the province’s non-profits and community organizations.

The service is being offered by Logical Outcomes, a non-profit that supports other non-profits with monitoring, research and evaluation, strategic planning, and data/AI systems.

It includes access to AI assistants and a suggested prompt library designed for non-profit use cases, as requested by non-profits across the province.

The OTF was also one of the initial funders of the Canadian Centre for Nonprofit Digital Resilience, which is now housed within Imagine Canada.

Logical Outcomes is one of several organizations developing tailored AI learning and applications for the non-profit sector. This week, NetHope released its guide on responsible AI for non-profits, and last week, five Canadian non-profits were selected to accelerate internal AI adoption.

Earlier this month, Google also committed $13 million in funding to four community organizations to deliver AI learning to communities: the Toronto Public Library, Skills for Change, the First Nations Technology Council and the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute.
