RBC spends $7 million to strengthen capacity for several Canadian non-profits

RBC has pledged $7 million to help strengthen the capacity of Canada’s non-profit sector.

The money is expected to help non-profit leaders develop essential skills to build resilience and strengthen wellbeing.

It will also contribute to the development of digital skills, including AI adoption, data management, and cybersecurity, they said.

According to research published by Imagine Canada, 81 per cent of non-profit workers believe digital skills are essential, but only 14 per cent say their organization is fully integrated digitally.

The bank points to a surge in demand for non-profit services, declining funding and workforce burnout as the reasons behind the funding.

Data from Future of Good’s Changemaker Wellbeing Index found 70 per cent of non-profit workers feel burnout or exhausted at least occasionally.

Along with the financial support, RBC says it will also mobilize its employees through volunteering and mentorship opportunities.
