What does ‘responsible AI’ mean to non-profits and community organizations? This webinar will look to understand how non-profits can practically apply responsible AI frameworks to the work that they do already with donors and community members.

We have seen a number of guiding frameworks crop up for the sector, including from Fundraising.AI and the Technology Association of Grantmakers.

We’ll look to understand how the frameworks can drive decisions within non-profits, such as the technology vendors they choose to partner with, technical processes, community programming, staff training, and accountability frameworks.

This webinar should also encourage us to ask questions of who exactly is responsible for ‘responsible AI’: to what extent is it technology companies, and to what extent is it all of us?

Why it matters

There are a number of different frameworks appearing to help organizations – both for-profit and non-profit – apply artificial intelligence to their operations in a responsible way. What does it tangibly and practically look like for the non-profit sector to apply ‘responsible AI’ frameworks to its work?

Key questions to be addressed:

• How are responsible AI frameworks built and developed? How are they tested?
• How do responsible AI frameworks translate into tangible action for non-profits who are using frameworks? Are there examples of how non-profits have applied these principles?
• Who is holding non-profits accountable when they seek to use and apply these frameworks?
• We can hold non-profits and philanthropic organizations responsible, but what about technology developers themselves? How can these frameworks apply to their work?
