The amplification of inequities calls on us to collectively imagine a new kind of capitalism. Corporates across the country have a major role to play in creating social impact post-pandemic across all major issues noted — from health to food security. This pandemic has brought into sharp focus the synergies between doing well in business and doing good in our communities. Beyond corporate social responsibility, companies that embrace social capitalism do so by using their core business to serve a greater social purpose that benefits all of their stakeholders, from shareholders and customers to our most vulnerable citizens. The time is now to reimagine the purpose of business, the relationship between companies and community, and to catalyze social capitalism into action.
