The social sector was not prepared for a shift to working online and all at once. Millions of social impact workers have been impacted by this sudden change. Many social impact organizations don’t even have IT departments to help them with technology selection, implementation, and skills upgrades.
The shift is also revealing serious gaps in the development and delivery of programs and services for effective, remote work.
So, what happens when the sector that is best positioned to help the most vulnerable has also been stretched and challenged?
The social impact sector has no choice but to become more tech and data savvy, and we can’t wait to dive into this more with IBM Canada, our visionary sponsor at the Future of Good Summit on Nov 25-26. IBM Canada is collaborating with Future of Good to co-create impactful digital content between Nov 2020 and Jan 2021, and will kick off with our #BuildBackBetter digital conversation on November 3rd to explore how communities across Canada can benefit from a tech and data-savvy social sector.
