RisingYouth Microgrants for Social Impact
About This Series
Now, more than ever, is a time where sectors need to empower youth as agents of change. #RisingYouth, a program led by TakingITGlobal and funded by the Government of Canada, was launched in 2018 and was designed to shape our country by giving back to community service projects led by youth between the ages of 15-30 through micro-grants of $250, $750, and $1,500 โ totalling over $7 million in grant funding with more than 7,000 grants in total. This series, in partnership with TakingITGlobal, covers some of the inspiring projects recipients of the grant, and why this initiative marks a milestone in the history of micro-granting.
How seven youth-led organizations are using micro grants to make big impact

Youth are inheriting complex and urgent problems, yet they say they need holistic support if they are to contribute to solutions. Itโs vital to give youth agency to act on their ideas and solutions from a young age, TakingITGlobal argues, to encourage them to continue being actively involved in global and local issues.
