Radiyah Chowdhury

Radiyah was born and raised in Scarborough. She recently graduated from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in New York with a specialty in arts and culture. In 2016, she completed her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ottawa’s Carleton University and has since worked in television, audio, print, and digital media.

While she spends most of her time writing and editing, she loves experimenting with other forms of creative storytelling. Along with being a performance poet, she’s had the opportunity to host her own radio show and produce podcasts. She’s primarily interested in community, culture, politics, and food—honestly, she’s happy to learn about most things. She’s also an avid fiction reader and a self-proclaimed connoisseur of snacks.

Her past media experience includes Chatelaine, TVO’s The Agenda, CBC, The Discourse, Canadaland, Atkinson Foundation, and National Public Radio in Washington, D.C.
