Taproot employees receive first dividend cheques

Taproot Community Support Services has reached a major milestone since becoming employee-owned, with workers receiving their first dividend cheques.

Dozens of employees at its B.C., Alberta and Ontario offices received the cheques this week, as part of Taproot’s Employee Ownership Trust.

As Future of Good has previously reported, Taproot became entirely employee-owned in 2025, making it the first social services organization in Canada to be owned through an Employee Ownership Trust.

The trust holds the organization for the benefit of its employees, while allowing Taproot to continue investing in its programs and communities.
