StatCan releases final survey on Canadian businesses – including non-profits
Consumer inflation outpaced gains made in employment and real gross domestic product (GDP), according to the data compiled in the most recent—and final—Canadian Survey on Business Conditions.
In a note left at the end of the survey, Statistics Canada thanked Canadians for participating and added that, due to federal government budget cuts, the survey would be discontinued to reduce duplication and focus its resources.
Also on the chopping block are reports about water usage, health care programs, and social data, StatCan said
Other reports are being scaled back in frequency, including ones that look at gender, diversity and inclusion, demographics, the environment, health, and social data.
Under the “Social, Justice Statistics Program” heading, StatsCan reports that “Selected survey components within the program will be descoped, including the Survey of the Diversity of Not-for-profit Boards.”
