A birthday fundraiser for actor Hudson Williams brought in $65,000 for BC Children’s Hospital.

Why It Matters

Fans of Crave’s hit series Heated Rivalry raised more than $65,000 for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation in support of Kamloops actor Hudson Williams.

Williams recently spoke about the hospital while on the red carpet for the 2026 Golden Globes, responding to a reporter’s question about where he would like to send a donation.

“The BC Children’s Hospital kind of saved my life when I was a little baby. So, selfishly, if we could save some more babies over there, that’d be cool,” he told the reporter.

BC Children’s Hospital is the only dedicated pediatric hospital in the province and Yukon, providing specialized, high-level care to newborns and children up to age 16.

In honour of Williams’s 25th birthday on Feb.13, fans set an initial fundraising goal of $1,000.

However, donations quickly surpassed that mark, climbing past $65,000 as supporters shared the campaign across social media.

In a Facebook post, BC Children’s Hospital called the moment “unexpected and one they won’t forget.”

“You turned a global spotlight into meaningful recognition, making so many team members feel proud of the work they do at the hospital and helping many families feel see,” the hospital added.

Heated Rivalry is a romantic drama TV series that follows the secret relationship between two professional male hockey players.

The show has been praised for breaking LGBTQIA+ barriers by portraying an often-steamy same-sex relationship within the traditionally conservative world of professional hockey.

The breakout series stars Williams as Canadian centre Shane Hollander, and Connor Storrie as Russian centre Ilya Rosanov, who both play for teams in a league similar to the NHL

The show is based on a series of novels by Canadian author Rachel Reid and was filmed in Montreal.
